The World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) is a non-profit organization promoting social and economic development as well as environmental stewardship in cocoa-growing communities of Africa, Southeast Asia and the Americas. WCF manages the Cocoa Livelihoods Program, which works with 200,000 cocoa farmers in Cameroon, Cote d' Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria through the implementation of multiple activities by five in-country technical partners. Job Summary:

WCF seeks an Education Specialist to coordinate and support implementation of WCF's ECHOES education program activities. He/she will report to the WCF West Africa Office Director and the Education Program Coordinator in Washington, DC with oversight and guidance from WCF senior management.

This position is a one-year term contract, renewable up to two additional years, based on performance and resource availability. Salary level is dependent on level of experience. This position will be based in Accra, Ghana with no expatriate benefits or relocation package. Program support will be provided by a program field associate based in the Accra office and direction and guidance will be provided by the West Africa Office Director and the Education Program team based in Washington, DC. Specific Responsibilities:

•  Coordinate ECHOES partner coordination and program implementation in Ghana and Cote d' Ivoire
•  Conduct, under the direction of West Africa Office Director, outreach activities to host governments Non-Governmental Organizations, International Institutions, WCF member companies, and representatives of other relevant organizations
•  Conduct/escort VIP visits to program sites to support, monitor and evaluate implementing partner performance and ensure project activities and targets are achieved
•  identify, conceptualize and propose add-on donor funded projects that will supplement the ECHOES program
•  Manage relations with multiple program partners including industry members, implementing partners and government agencies
•  Review and edit country reports and indicators to verify program achievement
•  Organize and coordinate regular meetings and teleconferences with stakeholders to monitor progress
•  Produce professional publications including Press material and responses to public queries
•  Represent WCF at public events, meetings, events, conferences, and workshops
•  Oversee monitoring and evaluation activities of education programming, including working WCF internal M&E staff
•  Liaise and coordinate with other, complementary programs in the field to leverage resources and lessons learned
•  Work with implementing partners to develop strategies for increasing women's participation and improve efforts for the reduction of the worst forms of child labor in the program
•  Miscellaneous duties, as requested by WCF management

Qualification Required & Experience

Candidates must possess proven representation, program management, and writing skills; as well as have a strong background in international development and education in the African context. Skills and experience in introducing and implementing innovations in agricultural development as well as capacity to development knowledge sharing systems are desirable for this position. Fluent oral and written language skill levels in both English and French are required. Detailed-oriented self-starters are desirable. Experience with managing U.S. government and private foundation funded projects is preferred.

Position Requirements:

•  3+ years of experience managing/coordinating education programs significant experience working in developing countries, particularly in Ghana and Code d' Ivoire
•  Track record of developing and maintaining partnerships across stakeholder groups at country and regional levels (including private sector, government, non-governmental organizations, academic institutes, and donor agencies, etc)
•  Detail oriented self-starter with the ability to self manage, self direct
•  Ability to work in fast-paced, international work environment with minimal support infrastructure
•  Frequent travel within Ghana and Cote d' Ivoire
•  Experience with monitoring and evaluation, proposal writing
•  Undergraduate degree in education, business, international development or related field

Bilingual Language Requirements:

•  French and English fluency required; Knowledge of local languages in the region a plus
•  Exceptional writing, speaking and presentation skills in both English and French
