Development Bank Ghana (DBG) is seeking to recruit a Chief Data Officer
Role Summary
• The Chief Data Officer is responsible for leading the data strategy of DBG, ensuring that it promotes wholesale banking.
• The primary responsibility of the role is to drive the data strategy forward, establish and execute the Data Governance Framework and lead the Governance Committee
• The role holder will report to the Vice President of Economics & Research, focusing on leveraging Data as a strategic asset and enhancing DBG's operational effectiveness and market competitiveness
Qualification Required & Experience
• Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing data functions within the banking, financial services sector or other relevant sector
• Minimum of a Master's OR PhD in Engineering or a related field
• Relevant professional certification / professional associations in Ghana or abroad is an advantage. For example, Cloud, Data Science, or Data engineering-related certifications
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective data strategies
• Proficiency in data management technologies, analytics tools and cloud platforms for driving business insights
• Detailed knowledge of data governance, compliance and risk management
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of wholesale banking operations and regulatory requirements

• Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and oral)
• Understanding of wholesale / development banking operations, financial products and regulatory requirements
• Understanding of organizational goals and strong interpersonal skills
