Description Of Job

Chemonics International Inc, a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., seeks a local chief of party  for an anticipated four-year USAID-funded program to improve literacy and numeracy for early grade children.

The project will support improving reading and numeracy instruction, teacher training, education management, and material development in English and mother tongue languages.

Responsibilities for the chief of party include:

. Providing overall project leadership and vision to the team, serving as the project’s primary liaison with USAID, government counterparts, and local partners,
. Overseeing project work planning, financial management and budgeting, and
. Ensuring that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriate.

Qualification Required & Experience

. An advanced degree in reading, education, and/or relevant fields preferred;
. Minimum 10 years of experience managing international donor-funded development projects, preferably education related, required;
. Familiarity and/or experience working in Ghana;
. Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity;
. Strong communications skills and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders;
. Fluency in written and spoken English required.
