Job Vacancy For Chief Resilience Officer (CRO) At Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA)



Background Of The Assembly:

The city of Accra having accepted to be part of the 100RC pioneered by the Rockefeller foundation is looking for a high profile and dedicated leader to fill the above position

Main Duties:

The Chief Resilience Officer will be a centre piece of Accra's vision and approach to building urban resilience and sustainability. He/she will therefore be a key catalyst in transforming the way the city plans, prepares and responds to a range of shocks and stresses. He/she will therefore be
responsible for:

•   Establishing a compelling resilience vision
•   Driving the conversation about resilience with diverse stakeholders
•   Leading the creation of Accra's Resilience strategy in conjunction with 100RC processes
•   Leveraging the benefits and services of the 100RC network and platform
•   Serve as a primary point of contact for 100RC

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualified applicants must have the following competencies/skills:

•   Minimum of Masters Degree in Project Management or Public Administration
•   Strong leadership skills
•   Ability to engage locally and develop relations with other departments and agencies
•   Ability to engage globally and liaise with leaders of other resilient cities for knowledge sharing
•   Ability to function across disciplines
•   Enterprising spirit
•   Effective communication and interpersonal skills
•   Excellent project management
•   Proficiency in Microsoft office tools (Power Point, Excel, SPSS and MS ACCESS) and general office technology
•    Must be able to speak at least two local languages

Experience:

Interested applicants must have the following experience:

•   A minimum of ten to fifteen years working experience in similar position
•   International development, Public Health, Urban planning.
•   Has successfully led one or more major initiative from end to end, from design through execution and evaluation  •   Has successfully implemented a major project that required co-ordinating with and executing across multiple sector or disciplines
•   Has experience working in city government and preferably strong background in at least one key governance domain in transportation, health, social services, economic development and emergency response and planning
•   Has successfully managed a team including direct reports and peers, as well as consultants or contractors
•   Has served as a representative in learning and discussions forums-ideally in a multi-cultural setting or at least a cross-sectorial setting
