What will your role be?
The Project Manager will work under the supervision of Advans Ghana General Management and in close collaboration with the TA Provider as well as in collaboration with the international team and local Business Development, Risk, and Marketing teams to lead a project to develop climate financial products and services. The Project Manager will have the opportunity to collaborate with all departments.
The mission covers all stages of project management. It will cover aspects of financial product creation through:
• Helping the TA Provider with the conducting of the feasibility study for product(s) to be developed including coordinating the client studies (sampling, logistical organization, and fieldwork) to assess needs and interests according to client profiles/segments
• Supporting the TA Provider in coordination with the various internal stakeholders and ensuring communication with all departments (risk, operations, logistics, training, HR, IT, etc.).
• Assisting the TA Provider with the adaptation of loan and/or savings and insurance products/services to plan for climate emergencies – collect and review internal documents, define the technical requirements/specifications, and modification of procedures necessary to implement the new products or procedures at Advans.
• If relevant, helping in the definition and formalization of partnership agreements for the delivery of services, and coordinating the relationship between the partner and the institution – including communication, training, etc.
• Driving the implementation of the new product(s) pilot internally: formalization and finalization of all documents and procedures, following up on the configuration of the new products in the core banking and other systems, training head office and field staff on the new products/services.
• Definition of the pilot plan and monitoring with the TA Provider and the internal teams, ensuring that monitoring tools and feedback mechanisms are in place for the pilot phase and mastered by the local teams.
• Support the TA Provider and the local teams to work on the business case, scale, and funding strategy for the products in the long term.
• Throughout the project, participate in the training and capacity building of local expert resources and ensure that the new products and services are fully integrated into internal responsibilities and capacities for a handover at the end of the project.
Qualification Required & Experience
What kind of profile are we looking for?
• You are a graduate of a business school, engineering school or university with a major in project management, development economics, and/or climate/green finance, interested in the microfinance sector and Advans' mission as well as in the fight against climate change;
• You have at least three years of professional experience in project management;
• You have strong knowledge of climate change (risks, impacts, opportunities…) and climate finance;
• You have a successful professional experience in a developing country, ideally in Africa;
• You are familiar with the financial sector (microfinance, microinsurance, banking, etc.);
• You have excellent time management skills and can work to deadlines;
• You have good interpersonal skills and a strong ability to work as part of a team, with different stakeholders, including external partners;
• You are adaptable and able to analyze and summarize data and information;
• You have a good command of Microsoft Office Suite Tools and desktop tools in general;
• You are fluent in English (French appreciated)
