Job Vacancy For Conservation Education and Communications Officer At Ghana Wildlife Society (GWS)



The Ghana Wildlife Society (GWS), a non-governmental conservation organization, is seeking a highly motivated professional for the position of Conservation Education and Communications Officer to further develop and implement conservation education, and public awareness programmes of the Society.

The position is a fixed term position for a period of 2 years and will be based in Accra.

Responsibilities:

. Assist in the review of conservation education, and communication strategies of the Society and lead the implementation of these strategies
. Support the Society's membership restructuring and oversee the implementation of the new membership scheme
. Adapt and build on the current Wildlife Clubs of Africa manual with focus on outdoor activities as a complement to environmental education curriculum in primary schools in Ghana
. Produce periodic briefs, newsletters and other outreach materials to be used by national and international stakeholders

Qualification Required & Experience

The candidate must be a self-starter with knowledge in natural resources conservation, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Postgraduate degree in biological or environmental sciences with experience in communications and education delivery or a degree in communications and marketing with experience in environmental education
