A leading Container Terminal Operator with over 500 employees in Ghana is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and interested Engineers to fill the below position: Cranes Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cranes Engineer to oversee the maintenance, operation and repair of electric port gantry cranes, with a particular focus on eRTGs (Electric Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes) and STS (Ship-To-Shore) cranes, especially ZPMC brand equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum equipment performance, efficiency and safety in line with our operational standards

Reporting: Reports to the Assets Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and environmental protection in all maintenance activities.
• Lead and manage preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance for all terminal cranes, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime
• Supervise the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of port gantry cranes to ensure smooth operations
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and coordinate emergency repairs
• Provide guidance and training to the maintenance team on crane servicing and safety protocols
• Work closely with crane operators to ensure adherence to operational and safety standards
• Liaise with suppliers for spare parts procurement and oversee major repair projects to completion

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with electric port gantry cranes, particularly eRTGs and STS cranes
• Strong expertise in ZPMC crane systems is essential
• In-depth knowledge of electrical control systems and proficiency in programmable Logic controllers (PLCs)
• Experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting in a port environment
• Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations

Skills & Abilities

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in electrical crane systems
• Proven ability to lead a maintenance team and work independently
• Ability to manage high-pressure situations and respond promptly to emergency repairs
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on teamwork safety
