The Controller & Accountant General's Department (CAGD) is a public service organisation which has a Data Centre with several equipment and related facilities. The Data Centre provides support to the Payroll and other sections to ensure timely delivery of payroll and other services.

To realise its objectives of providing an uninterruptible service to its clients, the Department requires a Data Centre Infrastructure manager with the requisite skills to manage its Data Centre to ensure efficient running of the mechanised payroll and other activities.

Responsibilities:
The Data Centre Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the CAGD Data Centre and facilities. Selected applicant will coordinate activities of the various Sections under the CAGD and third party service providers to ensure that facilities are maintained to enable the Department deliver uninterrupted service to its clients.

Major areas of operations will include:

•  Air conditioning systems
•  Electrical power systems including electrical grounding
•  Uninterruptible power supply equipment
•  Water/smoke detection devices
•  Fire suppression
•  Earthquake safeguards
•  Safety training

Qualification Required & Experience

•  First degree in a technical field
•  3 years of experience as a facilities manager or chief engineer in a reputable organisation

The following qualification(s) may be an added advantage:

•  Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification
•  A very good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in a Data Centre environment
