PATH seeks a Database Specialist to support a new project in Ghana, implemented under the global MalariaCare partnership, a USAID - funded program available to strengthen case management in PMI focus and other countries. MalariaCare aims to achieve universal diagnosis and appropriate case management for malaria by strengthening the capacity of malaria-affected countries at all levels of the health system to provide high-quality diagnostic and treatment services for malaria and other febrile illnesses. This position will report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager for MalariaCare, Ghana.

Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
• Technical assistance to the Ghana Health Service with training, maintenance and analysis of data from DHIMS2.
• Maintaining and editing Access and Excel databases associated with program activities.
• Assist in determining data overlaps between programmatic data and DHIMS2 data to assist in linking these databases.
• Provide targeted technical assistance as needed to Regional and District Health Information Officers to assure that their data is complete, timely and utilized.
• Provide targeted technical assistance as need to Regional Health Management Teams to assist in program planning.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Diploma in statistics/health information technology/information technology with at least 4 years of experience working with health information technology.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple tasks with competing priorities.
• Organized, responsible, and concise in order to meet reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Proven effectiveness working independently and as a team member.
• Computer literate with excellent working knowledge in Access and Excel.
Required Experience
• Experience working with the Government of Ghana and international NGOs.
• Experience with Government of Ghana health information systems.
• Experience with open-source and Microsoft Access database software.
• Familiarity with tablet and smart phone based data platforms.
• Experience in training is an advantage.
Candidates must have legal authorization to work and currently reside in Ghana.
