A reputable Co-operative society in the wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical products is inviting applications from suitable, qualified persons for the under-listed position:- Deputy Managing Director

Job Purpose:

•   To support the Managing Director in the day-to-day operations of the society as well as addressing Management and board issues

Duties and Responsibilities

•   Deputises for the Managing Director and acts in his absence
•   Ensures the execution of the overall operational activities of the society
•   Supports in the formulation and successful implementation of the society policies
•   Evaluates, analyses and reports on Administrative and Financial performance results
•   Provides leadership and direction in the execution of short and medium term strategic objectives of the society
•   Ensures preparation and timely submission of the society and enforce ethical business practices
•   Assists in achieving the society's objectives by researching into opportunities and challenges
•   Directly responsible for the purchases and marketing of the society's products
•   Establishes work procedures, schedules and workflow to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations
•   Directly responsible for increasing the patronage of the society's services
•   Represent the society as and when delegated by the Managing Director
•   Any other responsibilities assigned by the Board of Directors, through the Managing Director.

Reporting Relationships

•   Reports to the Managing Director and indirectly to the Board of Directors

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree in Pharmacy, Registered Pharmacist and member of the PSGH
•   Must have a uncommitted Pharmacy Licence
•   Additional qualifications in Business Administration of Finance will be an advantage
•   At least 5 years working experience with a Wholesale or Manufacturing firm
•   General knowledge of administrative practices and procedures
•   Must be computer literate
•   Must have a valid driving licence

Personal Characteristics

•   The candidate should be highly motivated and confident, should be between 30 - 45 years of age
•   Excellent communication, leadership, organisational and problem solving skills
•   Good report writing and presentation skills
•   Ability to perform multi-tasks while maintaining vigilant attention to details
•   Ability to work under pressure
•   Core values of accountability, integrity and transparency
