The Tamale Teacher Hospital is an agency of the Ministry of Health responsible for tertiary health care delivery, teaching and research.

Job Description

Tamale Teaching Hospital is an agency of the Ministry of Health; mandated to provide tertiary health care services, serves as a teaching facility for the School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University for Development Studies and to undertake relevant research for health development. The Board of the Hospital is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position.

Job Purpose:

•   Provide direction and advice in the efficient management of General Administration within the Tamale Teaching Hospital,

Functions:

•   Provide administrative support and advice to the Chief Executive on issues relating to general administration    •   Lead in the development and dissemination of procedures and guidelines in general administration, transport, procurement, supply, estate and clinical engineering
•   Contribute to the development of medium/Long term strategic plans for the TTH
•   Ensure smooth and coordinated operations in the areas of administration and support services
•   Manage and motivate administration and support staff
•   Prepare annual reports and other reports on the Directorate
•   Lead in the needs assessment of transport, procurement, supply and estate services.
•   Undertake any other responsibility assigned by the Chief Executive

Duration of Contract:
All the positions are for FOUR (4) years contract period subject to renewal upon satisfactory work output and conduct.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   The person must be a senior Health Personnel and have the following:
•   Postgraduate qualification in Health Management,Planning and Policy or related field, preferably Master's degree or equivalent
•   Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in Health Management
•   A minimum of ten (10) years' working experience in the health sector of which five  (5) should be at senior management level
•   The person must be at least Deputy Chief Grade at the time of application
•   A broad-knowledge base and experience of Contract Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Estate, Equipment and Logistics Management
