Job Vacancy For Director, Medical Affairs At Cape Coast Teaching Hospital



The Cape Coast Teaching Hospital is an agency of the Ministry of Health responsible for tertiary health care delivery, medical education and research.

Job Purpose

Provide direction and advice in the efficient management and delivery of quality clinical care services, teaching, research and development within the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

Functions

•   Lead in the development of clinical care policies,guidelines, protocols and standards.
•   Take a pro-active role in the development and implementation of clinical services in the facility in accordance with the National Policy.
•   Take a lead role in ensuring that high clinical standards are met in the provision of specialist medical services.
•   Take a lead role in maintaining skills and knowledge in the specialist fields through an agreed CPD plan, in line with the outcome of the annual appraisal process
•   Lead and contribute to clinical supervision and promote conduct of clinical research and development using evidence-based approach.
•   Undertake any other responsibility assigned by the CEO

Duration of Contract
All the positions are for 4 years contract period subject to renewal upon satisfactory work and conduct.

Qualification Required & Experience

The Person must be a Specialist in any of the Medical discipline and have the following:

•   Postgraduate qualification in Medical or surgical discipline (Membership or Fellowship) with at least the grade of Senior Specialist.
•   A minimum of ten (10) years' working experience in Medicine, FIVE (5) years' of which should be at the senior management level.
•   Member of relevant and recognised Professional Body
•   Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in Health management
•   Knowledge in coordinating and implementing Research and development programmes.
