Job Vacancy For Director Of Programmes And Advocacy (DoPA) At Christian Council Of Ghana



The Christian Council Of Ghana is a research and advocacy based organization with its head office in Accra and a northern sector office in Tamale. The council is looking for a capable, result oriented and creative-thinking individuals to occupy the following positions;

Director Of Programmes And Advocacy (DoPA)
Reporting To General Secretary

Key Responsibilities

. Coordinate and manage the Council’s programmes and provide strategic leadership to the programme department
. Be responsible in the preparation of proposals to raise funds for Council’s projects and activities
. Be responsible in ensuring that all project implementation are in accordance to project objectives and requirements
. Define project scope, goals and deliverable with Programme Managers and prepare project reports for partners
. Ensure programmes meet quality standards and be responsible for monitoring and evaluation
. Provide training on programme staffs from time to time based on their capacity needs
. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise programme staff and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
. Develop and implement advocacy campaigns that are in line with Council’s mandate
. Lead the development of policy briefs, manuals and other documents for the use of the Council
. Ensure gender mainstreaming in all programmes

Qualifications

. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Public Policy, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Development or similar)
. Eight years working experience, including five years practical experience in programming and advocacy
. Sound knowledge on governance, socio-economic and ecumenism issues in Ghana
. High level of familiarity with the policy making process in Ghana and at the international level
. High level of familiarity with Ghanaian civil society, including NGOs, domestic and international charitable organizations, trade and business associations, etc
. Excellent organizational skills; ability to balance and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced, changing environment
. Experience working at the national level and in cross-religious settings
. Excellent analytical, writing and public speaking skills
. High level of proficiency in spoken and written English, and
. Ability to travel within Ghana and internationally
. Track record in programme design and proposal writing

Skills and Abilities:

. Ability to work and lead a team
. Strong management, communication and logistic skills

Candidate’s membership in any of the Council’s member churches will be an added advantage
