The Ministry of Health is looking for a suitable candidate for the Post of Director of Traditional and Alternative Medicine at the Ministry of Health.

MAIN DUTIES

•   Initiate Policies for Herbal and Complementary Medicine Development in Ghana
•   Coordinate and Implement Strategies for Herbal and Complementary Medicine Development
•   Facilitate Cooperation with Allopathic Medicine Practice for Integration of Herbal and Complementary Medicine services into Healthcare Delivery
•   Mobilize Technical and Financial Resources to Support Traditional Medicine Service and Development
•   Respond to Directives from the Chief Director and the Minister for Health.

SALARY AND REMUNERATIONS

Negotiable but up to SSPSH 24H/25L. Other Attractive Fringe benefits such as Duty Post
Vehicle and 20% Top-up on Gross Salary for Accommodation.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Masters,  M.Phil. or MSc. in any relevant Health Related Science Discipline
•   Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Public Administration
•   Master in Public Health would be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE

•   At least 15 years work experience 5 years of which should have been at a senior management position
•   Experience with Computer. Microsoft Word. Excel and other Computer software applications as scientific analytical tools and for creation of Databases.
•   Experience in Health and Scientific Research with traditional medicine background would be an added advantage.

•   Good appreciation and analysis of Social and Plant Medicine Research
