Job Vacancy For Director (Parliamentary Broadcasting)
Application are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill a vacancy in the post of Director (Parliamentary Broadcasting) in the Parliamentary Service of Ghana.
Job Summary
• The Director will oversee and manage the operations of the Parliamentary Broadcasting Department, ensuring high-quality standards in the production and dissemination of parliamentary proceedings and related content through various media channels
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Director (Parliamentary Broadcasting) shall provide support for the Clerk and Management of the Service through the Coordinating Director (Public Affairs) by performing the following duties
• Produce unbiased and impartial coverage of proceedings from the chamber, parliamentary committee meetings and parliamentary functions through television, radio and internet channels
• Plan and maintain adequate infrastructure to support the broadcasting of proceedings and events of Parliament
• Ensure broadcasting companies adhere to rules of coverage of Parliamentary processing and events of Parliament
• Advise on the processing of accreditation for broadcasting companies that intend to use footage's on parliamentary proceedings and events
• Keep and maintain archives of audio and videos of parliamentary proceedings and functions
• Liaise with the Director, Public Engagement, to develop broadcasting content for public education and engagement
• Prepare a budget for the department for incorporation into the annual budget of the institution
• Lead the process of developing and implementing the department's strategic plan to be function into the strategic plan of the institution
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Clerk to Parliament.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A First Degree in English, Communication Studies, Journalism or any relevant social science discipline from a recognised university with 10 years post-qualification experience plus a master's degree with at least 3 years on a grade analogous to Deputy Director in a Public Service institution or
• A Master's Degree in a relevant field with 5 years of post qualification experience and at least 3 years on a grade analogous to Deputy Director in a Public Service Institution
• A professional certificate in Law will be an added advantage
Age Limit: An applicant should not be above 50 years of age on the date of appointment to the post
