Project Brief:

• develoPPP – As an implementing partner of the BMZ program develoPPP, GIZ cooperates with companies that want to invest sustainably in Ghana and expand their local operations. Therefore, GIZ Ghana implements joint development partnership projects (DPP) with the private sector to promote training, employment, and integrated approaches to promote sustainable economic development in Ghana. Women shea business cooperatives: The project seeks to improve the livelihoods of female shea collectors and their communities through the creation of independent business cooperatives.

Scope of Role:

• The driver safely and responsibly performs all official travels using official vehicle(s) and assists with other office work.

Tasks:

• Provide passenger transport in an official car for Partner staff in Tamale, project staff and official visitors to project site.
• Run errands for the project and help with transporting goods.
• Responsible for the project vehicle documents and their good condition, keeping a vehicle logbook and recording monthly maintenance with GIZ standards.
• Report need for service and carries out minor repairs.
• Immediately report all involvement of the project/office vehicle in accidents including minor accidents, damage, loss or theft of vehicle fitting.
• Use all available information (including current radio news on traffic conditions) to update daily knowledge of road conditions, current passable routes and locations, and share this information with other office drivers.
• Clean the interior and exterior of the vehicle(s) regularly

Qualification Required & Experience

• Secondary school education and hold a valid driver’s license.
• At least three (3) years work experience as a driver with references.
• No major accidents in the past three (3) years.
• Good knowledge of the English language.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiar with the road terrain and network of Tamale and its environs.
• Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed (corresponding measures to be agreed with Management).
• Disciplined, punctual, resilient and patient
