Job Vacancy For Environmental and Social Technician At CSR Developments (Akosombo)
Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to provide support and add depth and redundancy to the Environment and Social department within Forest Management Group. Under the direction of the Environment and Social Supervisor the Environmental and Social Technician will conduct environmental monitoring and community consultation activities as well as support compliance efforts with CSRD's Smartwood Certification and Occupational Health and Safety Plan (OHSP)
Brief Description of Responsibilities:
• Collect, collate and analyse environmental monitoring data
• Liaise with local fishermen to collect, collate and analyse fish catch data
• Conduct and document community consultation efforts
• Create and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders on Volta Lake
• Conduct monitoring/inspection activities in accordance with CSRD's Environmental Management Plan
• Conduct monitoring/inspection activities in accordance with CSRD's OHSP and Smartwood Certification
• Participate in field inspections with relevant authorities and certification bodies as required
Qualification Required & Experience
Technical Skills/Background:
• Experience within the forest or related industry dealing with environmental monitoring and reporting
• Extensive experience conducting community and stakeholder consultations;
• Ideally a related degree in Natural Resource Management or equivalent demonstrated experience;
• Previous field work experience
• Must have the ability to influence and
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programmes;
• Must be fluent in English and be proficient in Dangme, Ewe or Twi
