Job Summary
Assists the Country Director by performing administrative responsibilities. Must be a person of integrity, able to keep confidential information, highly organized, and able to manage the Country Director’s literary and schedule.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
• Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
• Working within one's influence, serves as an advocate for children around the world who live in poverty and are not able to speak out for themselves. This includes being informed about the issues of children and influencing others to care about children who are in need.
• Prepares speeches, presentations and other documents for the office
• Undertakes oral and written communication for the Country Director.
• Organizes itineraries of those visiting the Country Director and other office travels.
• Creates monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual reports for the office.
• Takes minutes of meetings held by the Country Director.
• Ensures proper filing of all official documents both soft and hard copies appropriately
• Keeps consolidated calendar of activities of the Country Director.
• Organizes events, conferences and workshops.
• Coordinates with the various departments and managers on issues that concern the office.
• Serves on Committees as assigned by the Country Director.
• Able to travel with the Country Director or alone on official assignments.
• Reviews documents and makes inputs.
• Translates documents when necessary
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (To be determined by each country office)
Qualification Required & Experience
• Mature Christian person, based on Christian values; has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is above reproach in integrity and honesty.
• A responsible person, loyal, with a highly cooperative spirit and willing to help others.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
• Degree in Management or Administration.
• 5 years experience working in a busy office and performing advanced administrative duties.
• Keeps the highest standards of confidentiality and loyalty towards the ministry and Country Director.
• Ability to multi-task and accomplish assignments in a timely manner
• Must maintain a professional appearance.
• Ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
• Ability to network with other organizations and church institutions
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Able to travel as directed by the Country Director.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a cross-cultural environment.
