The successful candidate would be responsible for the day-to-day running of Radio station, leading the management team to ensure they meet the key objectives of the station in terms of output, audience, or revenue.

Qualification Required & Experience

The candidate must demonstrate:

•  Ability to generate original ideas, and to think creatively with excellent communication and presentation skills
•  Knowledge of the Radio market, different station and programme styles, and audience demographics
•  Business, marketing and finance skills and ability to generate target revenue
•  Sound editorial judgement
•  The capacity to work effectively under pressure, reacts quickly, and meets tight deadlines and must be confidence and decisiveness
•  Determination, diplomacy and excellent interpersonal skills as well a facility for managing creative teams, and encouraging acceptable creative risk taking
•  Ability to coach, and to develop talent in others and should demonstrate the ability to give and receive (accept?) feedback, and manage performance
•  Ability to encourage frank and constructive reviews of output and be self-motivation and adaptable
•  A thorough knowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulation as they affect Radio production
•  High level of IT skills – particularly good word-processing and data handling skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•  Knowledge of production techniques, procedures and standards.
•  Knowledge of broadcast rules, regulations and guidelines.
•  Knowledge of programming techniques, procedures and standards.
•  Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
•  Knowledge of the program format subject area(s).
•  Ability to effectively communicate.

Minimum Qualifications:

•  A good degree in communication or Journalism/ Broadcasting or related field. A second degree would be preferable
•  Three years experience in program evaluation, acquisition and scheduling for radio or television which includes one year supervisory experience. OR
•  Four years of managerial Experience at the Senior Management level
•  Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by the board of Directors.
