Inspire Her Ghana is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls, women, and communities through menstrual health interventions. Our mission is to address period poverty, promote menstrual equity, and create supportive environments where menstruating individuals can thrive. Through comprehensive education programs, access to sustainable menstrual products, and community engagement initiatives, we strive to break down barriers and foster empowerment.
Scope of Work:
Inspire Her Ghana is seeking a Grant Writer Consultant to support our fundraising efforts by identifying grant opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, and securing funding to support our programs and initiatives. The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
Grant Research and Identification
• Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources aligned with Inspire Her Ghana's mission and objectives.
• Maintain a database of grant opportunities, including eligibility criteria, deadlines, and application requirements.
Proposal Development:
• Work closely with the Inspire Her Ghana team to develop grant proposals that clearly articulate our programmatic goals, objectives, and impact.
• Tailor proposals to meet the specific requirements of each funding opportunity, ensuring alignment with funder priorities and guidelines.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant data, testimonials, and supporting documents to strengthen grant proposals.
Grant Submission and Management
• Prepare and submit grant applications in a timely manner, adhering to all submission deadlines and requirements.
• Monitor the status of grant applications and communicate with funders as needed to provide additional information or address questions.
• Upon successful grant award, assist with the development of grant agreements and reporting requirements.
Qualifications Required and experience
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Gender Studies, International Development, or Development Studies. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6years of experience in grant writing and fundraising, preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Demonstrated experience in researching, writing, and securing grants from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
• Strong understanding of sexual and reproductive health issues, menstrual health interventions, and gender equality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts and data to diverse audiences.
• Proven track record of successful grant awards and fundraising targets achieved.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Payment Terms:
The Grant Writer Consultant will be compensated based on a percentage of the grants secured for Inspire Her Ghana. The payment terms will be negotiated and agreed upon prior to the commencement of work, with a range of 1-3% of the grant budget for each successful grant secured.
