Job Vacancy For Grants and Finance Officer
A leading Civil Society Organization (CSO) based in Accra and working in all regions of Ghana is seeking to recruit suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position: Grants and Finance Officer
Purpose of the Grants and Finance Officer’s Role
• Under the supervision of the Senior Grants and Compliance Officer, the Grants and Finance Officer performs a variety of grants and finance functions required to ensure proper grants and financial management, accountability, planning and reporting in alignment with the Foundation’s grants policies and procedures and Donors’ grant regulations.
• The officer will provide detailed support in the financial management of grants from start-up through close-out, help strengthen the Foundation’s sub-grantee financial analysis and reporting systems.
• The applicant must demonstrate a strong ability in sub-grantee financial management, as well as building the capacity of sub-grantees in areas of grants compliance and financial reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Review grants proposal budgets to ensure alignment with budget ceilings and floors, and approved performance plans
• Set up Grant Partner Budgets, Financial Reporting and Reconciliations systems necessary for an effective sub-grant financial management.
• Work on all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Grant Partners, as well as follow up on due diligence recommendations
• Manage partners’ grants cycles, from disbursements through to monitoring spend and reporting and grants close-outs.
• Prepare close-out documentation at the end of funding cycles in compliance with the Foundation’s policies and procedures and grant and donor requirements
• Constantly update Grant Partner risk profile
• Identify capacity building needs of grant partners and coordinate the relevant trainings required
• As part of the Grants team, submit relevant donor and management reports as may be required.
• Provide support for internal, external and donor audits and any audit recommendations dealt with in collaboration with management.
Qualification Required & Experience
Minimum Required Qualifications
• Relevant degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and other related field
• Professional qualifications in ICA, ACCA, CIMA etc will be an added advantage.
Minimum Relevant Working Experience and Skills
• At least 3 years of relevant finance, accounting, and grants management experience in the civil society sector
• Excellent command of MS office: Excel, Word, Power Point
• Ability to use QuickBooks Accounting Software is an added advantage
• Ability to prepare financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Excellent communication skills
