Job Vacancy For Group Retail Financial Controller
Vlisco, the true original since 1846, is seeking to recruit an experienced individual with high level accounting, strong analysis and business reporting skills to join its Retail Team in Africa.
Reporting to the Group Controller hierarchically, and the Group Retail Executive Director functionally, the successful candidate will be required to deliver high quality financial reports and analysis to Management and board of Directors.
As a Senior Member of the Retail Management Team, the individual will also be expected to generate a comprehensive business review/intelligence by providing effective business partnering and reports to ensure compliance. Moreover the candidate will manage a list of retail projects with high financial, goverance & policy-importance
The Role
• Prepares and completes timely reporting of trading data and business intelligence on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly management report and facilitates monthly review by senior management team in charge of retail
• Assists in the annual target setting process, undertakes budget control by flagging variances and suggesting corrective
• Proactively contributes to defined concepts, procedures and policies at Vlisco Group Level and lead as a change manager the translation to the local situation
• Supports the development of policies and procedures to ensure consistent and reliable reporting data is produced across the group
• Leading and sharing best practices and case studies within the group and locally, optimize performance, systems and ways of working
• Liaises with cluster Finance Managers to implement internal controls related to retail area and assures adherence to Vlisco Group Policies.
• Prepares business cases for retail investments as well as conducting post-investment evaluations
• Advise Management with respect to financial policy, annual plans, risks and general co-ordination
Qualification Required & Experience
• Masters degree in Business Finance, Accounting, Economics or its equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial role
• Professional qualification in Accounting such as ACCA, CFA, CA Gh. etc is essential
• Strong leadership and financial management skills that bridge geographical and hierarchical layers
• Demonstrate knowledge in retail business with strong commercial acumen
• Proven working knowledge of financial reporting tools such as JDEdwards, Cognos, HFM, etc
• Willingness to travel within the Africa region from time to time
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
