Job Vacancy For Head, Corporate Affairs
A reputable Financial institution (non-bank) is seeking to recruit suitably qualified persons for the position of Head, Transport Unit who will report to the Head, Corporate Affairs
Job Objective
• To contribute to achievement of the company's business objectives by the development and execution of the core corporate/brand/advertising communication strategies, stakeholder engagements, corporate reputation, issues & crisis management, strategic communications and media relations
• To define and lead corporate branding strategy to position the company among the top brands in the industry and establish relationships with media entities and channels
Duties and Responsibilities
External and Internal Communications
• Responsible for the day-to-day general administration of the department
• Raise the company's profile through developing communication strategies supporting the company's corporate reputation, strategic initiatives, marketed products and programs
• Develop and execute communication strategies to raise awareness of the company's activities and products, seizing relevant opportunities to enhance the organisation's image
• Support the Managing Director and leadership team in creating awareness of the company's strategic goals and priorities to multiply stakeholders
• Responsible for the planning and organization of corporate events
• Responsible for the management of all approved domestic and international corporate travels
• Develop capacity and competency of an in-house design and advertising unit within the corporate affairs department
• Supervise and appraise the performance of immediate subordinates through the company's performance management system
Media Relations and Issue Management
• Establish and leverage media network in Ghana and beyong to improve and protect the company's reputation
• Build and maintain media network in Ghana. Monitor and pro-actively manage developments that could enhance or threaten the company's reputation in the media
• Drive media coverage around key milestones to increase and reach target audience by leveraging multiple channels (such as social media, general press, company's website etc)
• Ensure positive coverage of the company
• Manage crisis communications and issues management
• Collaborate with relevant departments on stakeholder engagements and management
Brand / Advertising Management
• Ensure that the company remains exciting and continuously recognizable to customers
• Promote and improve public perception of the company positively
• Supervise advertising product communication design and other forms of marketing to maintain consistency in branding
• Provide strategic guidance and consultation for new corporate programs, events and other experiences
• Perform any other tasks/duties that may be assigned by the Executive
Qualification Required & Experience
• A good first degree / Master's Degree preferably in English, Mass Communication, Communication studies, international relations, journalism or related fields from a reputable university.
• A chartered member of IPR or relevant professional body
• A minimum of 8 years post qualification relevant work experience in a reputable organisation, 4 years of which must be in a senior management position
• Must be on the grade of at least senior manager at the time of application
Skills / Competencies
• Considerable knowledge / understanding of the insurance markets and operations of the Media environments
• Well-developed strategic orientation
• Good knowledge / understanding of events management
• Strong personality with drive
• Ability to provide mediation and counseling support
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Good leadership / managerial skills
• Ability to assess and select appropriate communications route for different messages and audiences
• Relevant presentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or related software
