Job Vacancy For Head, ICT (Senior Assistant Secretary)



Job Purpose

• To develop, implement and manage a secure and efficient information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure and systems to help meet the strategic and operational technological needs of the association

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides quality support systems and services to the Association through overall management, control and administration of all ICT functions, facilities and infrastructure. Oversees the association ICT planning and maintenance

• Plans, develops and implements the Association's ICT strategies to be in line with overall organisation business goals and objectives
• Advises the General Secretary on ICT related issues
• Manages and leads IT operations including systems, infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, tools, training and support, including a contralised ICT helpdesk service to all districts and regions
• Manages and leads change to ensure efficient delivery of ICT services to the association
• Manages IT projects including planning, budgeting and delivery in a cost-efficient manner
• Ensuring IT risks are identified, assessed and mitigated
• Monitors and ensures compliance of staff, IT systems and processes with relevant policies, regulation and laws within and outside the Association
• Communicates IT plans, strategies and initiatives to stakeholders as sanctioned by the General Secretary
• Works collaboratively with departments and units to ensure the provision of integrated ICT service
• Provides training and support for ICT management of all levels of the association
• Ensure the security and integrity of IT system and data
• Ensures IT systems and services are available and resilient to promote business continuity
• Coordinates the activities of IT service providers and vendors of the organisation
• Develops an ICT system to monitor and track membership dues payment from the CAGD

Qualification Required & Experience

• Master's Degree in IT management, management information systems, information systems, computer science or any other equivalent qualification
• At least 10 years of working experience in an ICT related environment
• Must be at least 40 years of age and not more than 55 years
• Proven track record of leading an ICT team in a complex organisation and delivering measurable improvements in ICT service delivery
• Proven track record of deploying IT related infrastructure in medium to large organisation
• A professional teacher and a member in good standing will be an added advantage
• Members with the Ghana Education Service who possess the above experience and qualifications should in addition be on the rank of Assistant Director I for at least 3 years
• In-service staff (Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff) who possess the above experience and qualifications should in addition have at least 3 years of working experience with GNAT
