A reputable rural Bank in the Eastern Region seeks to employ the service of competent person for the following position: Head of Internal Auditor

Responsibilities May include but not limited to:

• Developing an internal Audit strategic plan for board approval
• Preparing periodic risk and compliance reports, internal audit reports, annual audit plan for approval by the board sub committee
• Ensuring the company complies with regulations, prudential requirements, best practices, internal policies and procedures. internal controls and making appropriate recommendations to management and the board sub committee
• Ensuring compliance with provisions of the Bank and specialized deposit taking institutions act 2016 Act 930, companies code, 1963 (Act 179)
• Appraise, from time to time, the effectiveness of internal controls in place and propose new controls
• Assist management in improving the risk management process
• Assume an active role in the development and maintenance of an audit universe and risk-based audit plan
• Help create a control environment that will detect and avoid any fraud
• Participating in field work as appropriate to ensure quality of staff work and procedures
• Any other legitimate assignments that may be required of you as the need arises

Qualification Required & Experience

• A good first degree in Banking and Finance or Accounting or HND qualification (Accounting Option)
• An Associate Banker (CIB qualified) is an added advantage
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in rural banking
• Must be knowledgeable in emerge T24 software
