Title: Head of Unit, Monitoring & Inspection
Reports To: Director, Compliance
Job Summary: Leads the Monitoring & Inspection Unit to ensure compliance across the gold value chain through field inspections, documentation reviews, and verification of trading activities. Oversees enforcement of standards and contributes to regulatory reforms and continuous monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute inspection protocols across gold mining, refining, and trading operations.
• Lead investigations into non-compliance, environmental breaches, and trade irregularities.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and regulatory agencies for joint monitoring actions.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of inspection findings.
• Provide strategic input into compliance policy development and enforcement mechanisms.
Qualification Required & Experience
Skills and Qualification Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Regulatory Compliance, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in regulatory compliance, audit, or inspection, with 4 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of gold sector operations, regulatory frameworks, and monitoring tools.
• Proven ability to lead investigations, manage field teams, and engage with stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
