Job Vacancy For Head, Risk Management At KPMG Ghana

Responsible for identifying, managing and advising the Management on potential risks and threats to the company, its employees, customers, reputation, assets, profitability and interests of stakeholders. The job holder will report to the Board of Directors and the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
• Champion the development and implementation of the company’s risk appetite, limits and tolerance levels
• Assist the Board and Executive Management to develop and communicate risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits, across all levels of the organisation
• Develop the company’s risk identification and annual assessment plan and facilitate the identification, measurement, assessment, monitoring, and control of the level of risks in the organisation
• Define The company’s enterprise risk management framework and establish guidelines for the development and implementation of supporting policies and procedures
• Incorporate risk considerations into strategic decision-making and ensure alignment between business strategies of line management and The company’s risk policy
• Conduct organisation-wide training and awareness sessions on internal control and risk issues
• Define and implement the control framework for monitoring and reporting on internal controls over the company’s operations, compliance and financial reporting
• Ensure adequate monitoring of significant deficiencies and material weaknesses in internal controls and ensure that appropriate remedial actions are taken
• Establish and maintain a risk awareness culture within the company and provide appropriate opportunities for organisational learning, including lessons learned from previous problems, on-going communication, training and development.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A degree in Commerce, Accounting or any risk management related discipline
• An MBA, Certified Internal Auditor or Chartered Accounting certification will be an advantage
• Ten to twelve years’ experience in Financial Risk Management, IT Risk Management and/or Internal Audit
• Telecommunication experience will be an added advantage.
• Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Deep understanding of inherent risks in the local & regional telecoms industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk management practices and principles
• Extensive experience in risk-based internal audit with a strong knowledge and understanding of governance practices, internal control systems and ability to monitor risk management activities internal audit and assurance practices and financial risk management principles and processes.
• Persistence and ability to overcome resistance or challenge differing perspectives with well-reasoned and logical explanations
• Strong communication skills – able to tailor communication to required audience.
