Following an extensive review at the begining of 2011, the UK Government department responsible for the aid programme - the Department for Internatiobak Develooment (DFID) - launched a new Operational Plan. As part of this plan. As part of this plan, DFID Ghana is now looking to recruit a number of key posts, to help the enlarged office manage a substantial annual budget and to deliver significant results that improve the lives of some of the poorest people in the country, whilst creating the jobs and economic growth needed to sustain further development in years to come.

DFID Ghana is inviting applications for the following post.
Key Responsibilities:
DFID Ghana would like to recruit a dynamic health professional with good knowledge of the Ghanaian Health Sector to help manage and deliver results for DFID' s significant and growing investment in the health sector in Ghana.
• The Health Adviser's main responsibilities will be working with the Senior health Adviser to design, advise on and monitor DFID's health programmes which focus on health sector support/health systems strengthening, maternal and reproductive health, and malaria.
• The successful candidate will report to the Senior Health Adviser and work closely with programme managers, as well as contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Human Development and Social Protection team to deliver the overall results
Qualification Required & Experience
Pre-requisites:
• The successful applicant will possess a Master's degree in Public Health or similar in addition to at least 3 years relevant working experience in the health sector in Ghana
• Knowledge of international development, the ability to work in a team and good planning, delivery and influencing skills are required. A full job description and terms of reference are available on request
