Job Vacancy For Human Security Programme Field Specialist At UNDP Ghana (Wa, Northern Region)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Field Coordinator, and working Closely with the HSP Programme Manager, the Field Specialist will lead the implementation and coordination of Human Security programme in Wa municipality.

Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for:

•  Work closely with the Field Programme Coordinator to ensure effective and efficient management, planning and implementation of human security interventions in assigned programme site
•  Assist in promoting the strategies for joint programming, ensuring synergies and complementarities within the framework of  "protection" and "empowerment"
•  Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly report detailing implementation progress, impact, challenges, recommendations and work plans
•  Promote knowledge sharing and learning on the Human Security concept and issues.

Qualification Required & Experience

Competencies:

•  Strong IT skills and ability to lead implementation of new systems (business side), and affect staff behavioural/attitudinal change
•  Promotes a knowledge sharing and learning culture in the office  .
•  Ability to lead strategic planning, results-based management and reporting
•  Focuses on impact and result for the client and responds positively to feedback

Qualifications:

•  A minimum of Bachelor degree in social science (human security, political science, sociology, development planning, development economics, international relations and/or international development). Minimum 4 years of progressive experience working on human security and/or holistic development including project management at national level
•  Familiarity with programmatic issues surrounding conflict prevention an important asset. Demonstrated experience in humanitarian and/or development coordination and in working with NGOs and donors. Excellent proven skills in analysis, problem solving, negotiations, diplomacy and leadership. Familiarity with the UN common systems, (coordination) tools and procedures. Proven experience on preparation of written reports prepared in an accurate and concise manner, and public presentation skills
