Job Vacancy For Internal Audit Officer At Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA)



The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is a not-for-profit organizations formed in 2006 to work with African governments, farmers, donors, NGOs and the private sector to reduce hunger and poverty in Africa through Agricultural development targeted at resource poor farmers. AGRA has its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and an office in Accra, Ghana.

AGRA is seeking to recruit exceptional and experienced individuals to fill the following positions based in the Accra Office in Ghana:- Internal Audit Officer

The Internal Audit Officer will report to the Head of Internal Audit based in Nairobi. S/he will assist in identifying programme opportunities for improvement in line with best practice and ensure that all audits conform to international standards.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

•  Preparing preliminary surveys of the audit process for grant projects including initial risk assessment of priority areas
•  Preparing and issuing audit terms of referees for projects based on the risk assessment prior to fieldwork
•  Carrying our project audit field work in the AGRA Audit Management System and preparing a summary of key observations for discussions with the process owners / project management
•  Ensuring audit information provided is factual and adequately supported and drafting reports for review as per established standards
•  Obtaining and incorporating formal responses from process owners/project management on areas of improvement and timelines for implementation of action plan
•  Communicating opportunities for improvement while giving due regard to management comments
•  Following=up on audit issues with management to ensure that agreed actions are implemented and identified issues are resolved, including periodic field visits to specific grantees
•  Assisting the Head of Internal Audit in responding to feedback on audit performance and providing first level support to AGRA Audit Management System users in the Accra office.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
•  Recognised professional qualification eg Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), CPA or equivalent
•  Member of a relevant professional body
•  Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in planning, conducting and managing internal audits, investigations, corporate governance, risk management and maintaining internal controls and compliance systems
•  Excellent written and oral communication skills with a good command of english and working knowledge of french
•  Proficiency in ERP systems e.g NAVISION will be an added advantage

Location: Accra

These positions will be on a 3-year fixed contract. Attractive. Remuneration packages commensurate with the responsibilities of the positions will be negotiated with the successful candidates.
