The role requires significant interaction with clients, either face-to-face or over the telephone. Responsible for developing appropriate sales strategies and materials that will meet organizational objectives; achieving sales targets and projections; maintaining a strong network with government agencies, NGOs, development partners, farmer-based organizations, associations, multi-national corporations and agribusinesses to describe the Esoko product and services; exploring potential collaborations, licensing and resellers; and appropriately planning pre-sale, sale and post sale support strategies. Organize periodic sales planning meetings and manage the monthly, quarterly and annual sales work plan and projections.
Responsibilities
• Manage sales team and lead sales operations;
• Develop and execute a sales strategy, including identification of key target markets, value propositions, key activities;
• Identify and sell the company’s solutions to development partners, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, farmer-based organizations, associations, mobile network operators and businesses across the globe;
• Identify and develop new business leads through networking, referrals, conferences and other events;
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of customers' diverse business needs and apply product knowledge to meet those needs;
• Conceptualize and design innovative solutions and projects to deploy Esoko with different clients;
• Respond to tender documents and requests for proposal and write proposals, reports and supporting literature;
• Ensure quality of service by maintaining detailed product knowledge, including features of Esoko’s platform, consulting services and processes;
• Identify opportunities for further sales and new areas for development through market research;
• Prepare and deliver customer presentations and demonstrations of Esoko articulately and confidently;
• Write and design sales literature and materials;
• Achieve sales targets and meet department’s key performance indicators;
• Network with existing customers to maintain links and promote additional products and upgrades;
• Manage accounts using a CRM in order to organize and prioritize daily and weekly goals;
• Mentor and coach junior team members;
• Collaborate with the Partners team, the Communications team, and Esoko resellers to drive sales;
• Contribute to team or progress meetings to update and mentor colleagues based on sales experience.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelors degree (in business, marketing, communication, social sciences or other related field); a Master's is preferred
• Born networker and sales strategist
• Ability to craft innovative solutions and services for clients and problem solve creatively
• Build trust, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation & focus on the customers
• Proven business development experience achieving sales targets (8-10 years)
• Track record demonstrating strong leadership, sales management and people management skills
• Be willing to work in an exciting startup and travel
• Ability to speak French is important; skills in Portuguese, Arabic or Spanish a plus.
