The IT department seeks an innovative, dynamic and energetic intern to support the IT Team over a one-year period.  Interns are provided with a monthly stipend.

Under general supervision, the IT intern will:

•  Provide technical software, hardware and network problem resolution to all Databank computer users by performing quest/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solutions.
•  Clearly communicate technical solution in a user friendly manner,.
•  Troubleshoot network printer problem.
•  Pass more complex end user problems on to network systems engineer/web applications developer/DBA
•  Conduct hardware and software inventory database maintenance and reporting.

The key duties of the Intern are:

•  Identify, diagnose and resolve level 1 problems for users of the personal computer software and hardware, the LAN/WAN network and Internet.
•  Provide one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone for Databank approved personal computer (PC) software and anti-virus problems.
•  Diagnose and resolve end user network or local printer problem, PC hardware problems and laptops, e-mail, internet, VPN,  and local-area network access problems and Software User support issues
•  Help install local area network cabling systems and equipment such as network interface cards, gateway routers, hubs and switches.
•  Report on network performance and issues, individual system/server performance, analyze log messages.
•  Provide one-on-one end-user problem on intercom telephone extensions.
•  Support all database/application systems
•  General database housekeeping duties i.e. reviewing all alert logs , space issues
•  Implement space management and archiving procedures
•  Provide out-of-hours support.
•  Assist in the installation of application software
•  Validate and approve online client subscriptions
•  Assist in the update of the corporate website and intranet.

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications

•  BSc Computer Science, BSc Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
