Project Brief

• The Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs and Growth in the ECOWAS region (MOVE) project focuses on building resilient cashew and rice value chains to contribute to the creation of jobs and income in West Africa, with ECOWAS as its main political partner.
• The project is mainly funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), with co-funding from the European Union and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented jointly with numerous private and public partners.
• MOVE intervention countries include Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria.

Scope of Role

• The Junior Technical Advisor is primarily responsible for providing support within the department in dealing with all questions arising in this area.

Tasks:

• Support the Production Component with the development and implementation of targeted ICT advisory services including e-learning.
• Support with the knowledge management of ICT solution for the project.
• Advice on targeted ICTs for efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of the programme activities.
• Assess the use of ICT solutions in project working areas and support scouting/identifying potential new digital solutions that could be developed and implemented.
• Support the development and implementation of digital training materials (e.g.,3D animation videos) and setting up an e-learning platform.
• Handle the inventory of gadgets used for testing and piloting ICT solutions and ensure its maintenance.
• Work in close collaboration with MOVE ICT Advisor in Nigeria and ICT and E-learning task force within the project.
• Support the organization and conduction of trainings and workshops and monitor the progress of project activities.
• Establish and maintain communication with ICT solution providers and technical experts on digitalization concepts and suitable solutions for the project intervention areas.
• Provide technical IT and logistic support to ensure smooth running of training programmes like the Master Training Programme (MTP)
• Support the Human Capacity Development (HCD) Component with the development of digital tools for the implementation of training programmes

Qualification Required & Experience

• University Degree in Computer Science, IT (Networking and Security)
• Very good knowledge of the English Language and basic French
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple IT related tasks both physically and virtually
• Experience with working in multicultural environment, with good interpersonal relationship and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational and management competence
• Ability to manage your own time and responsibilities independently
• Good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g.MS Office)
• Excellent communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships within diverse stakeholder land scape.
