Job Vacancy For Junior Technical Advisor – HCD/Gender



Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is a public-benefit federal enterprise working in more than 100 countries worldwide. Project Brief:

• The Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs and Growth in the ECOWAS region (MOVE) project focuses on building resilient cashew and rice value chains to contribute to the creation of jobs and income in West Africa, with ECOWAS as its main political partner.
• The project is mainly funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), with co-funding from the European Union and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented jointly with numerous private and public partners.
• MOVE intervention countries include Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Senegal.

Scope of Role:

The Junior Technical Advisor is primarily responsible for providing support within the department in dealing with all questions arising in this area.

Tasks:

? Support with the logistic preparation of training workshops and working Group meetings e.g. Logistics, registration, setting arrangement, interpretation
? Support in writing stories and promotional articles for the HCD/Gender activities
? Support with the preparation of all administrative document related to contracting for HCD/Gender activities.
? Support in translating documents (English – French – English)
? Support with the implementation of all HCD/Gender activities.
? Support in the development of communication tools such as factsheets, success stories, articles, publications, etc.
? Assure visibility of all HCD activities within the project and in all its intervention countries
? Handling of exhibition booths and enquiry desks at third-party events.
? Support in Scaling of innovative approaches developed by the project
? Support the E-Learning tasks force group in development of training content for online courses.
? Participation in the conception, organization, implementation and follow-up of events (digital formats international and national, digital, hybrid, presence, etc)

Qualification Required & Experience

Profile:

• University Degree (bachelor or equivalent) in Social Science, Communication or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French, knowledge of German is an additional advantage
• Good working knowledge of the use of computer applications (MS Office)
• Good writing skills and high degree of attention to details
• Good knowledge of the cashew value chain
• Ability to work within a multi-cultural team and establish an effective working relations with persons of different national and cultural backgrounds.
• Experience in gender considerations in a project setting will be an asset.
• Excellent organizational skills.
