Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. ("KRGl") is a fully-owned subsidiary ofAsanko Gold Inc., a company which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana's next gold mine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Operate the Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS) correctly;
•   Perform Aqua Regia analysis correctly;
•   Perform Bottle Roll analysis correctly;
•   Perform various CARBON analysis, including Carbon activity;
•   Perform Cyanide, Caustic and other titrations as required;
•   Follow all QA/QC protocols for all the above-mentioned procedures;
•   Ensure proper housekeeping in the Laboratory;
•   Maintain up-to-date register of all laboratory equipment and chemicals;
•   Be ready to follow all Safety, Health and Environmental policies for all the procedures above; and
•   Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisors.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must possess a minimum of Diploma in Laboratory Technology;
•   At least five (5) years work experience in a Gold Mine, two (2) of which must have been in a similar position;
•   Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
•   Strong analytical and validation skills;
•   Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
•   The successful applicant should be able to deputize the Unit Manager – Assay Laboratory in carrying out all duties of the unit;
•   Ability to ensure proper coordination and organization of work in the laboratory to achieve production targets;
•   Must have in-depth understanding of AAS and Fire Assay principles and the ability to operate and practice them accurately;
•   In-depth understanding of the principles and be able to perform Cyanide, Caustic and other titrations required on a mine;
•   Must have the ability to work on LIMS independently;
•   Must be a team player;
•   Must be honest with strong integrity;
•   Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
•   Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and LIMS; and
•   Valid Ghanaian Driver’s license
