Job Vacancy For Managing Director
A company that owns a modern retail market complex is looking for a dynamic and results oriented individual as Managing Director to head its management team.
SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
• To develop and implement strategies, establish systems and controls to manage the operations of the retail market complex.
REPORTS TO:
The jobholder will report to the Board of Directors of the company.
REPORTING TO THE POSITION:
• Jobholders reporting to this position will include Head, Human Resource, Head, Operationsand the Accountant.
SALARY: The salary attached to this position is attractive with other benefits.
JOB LOCATION: The job location is Kumasi.
KEY DUTIES:
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve short, medium and long-term goals for the markets including plans to improve cost-efficiency;
• Prepare, submit and communicate monthly, half-yearly and annually operational reports in an accurate and timely manner to the Board.
• Maintaining positive and trust-based relations with the Board, shareholders, and authorities of the markets;
• Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Board
• Effectively and efficiently control the cash flow to prevent the incidence of any liquidity and/or financial crisis that can adversely affect the operation of the market facility.
• Build and sustain the capacity of the various departments within the company and provide exemplary stewardship through the establishment, monitoring and improvement of operational systems, strategies and policies.
• Effectively communicate and present the critical financial issues that can impact on the overall performance and sustainability of the markets to the Board.
• Review and evaluate performance of Heads of departments to create and maintain effective and efficient management team.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Board and attend Board meetings as may be required.
• Assist in providing periodic reports for Management Information Systems.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Degree in Property; Land Economy /Estate Management.
• Degree in business administration, Project/Facility Management
• Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Extensive experience at top-level management or similar role with a minimum of seven (7) years experience.
And any related Degree from a reputable Institution
Technical Competencies:
• Ability to develop and execute strategies to achieve short, medium and long-term goals for the markets including plans to improve cost-efficiency;
• Ability to prepare, submit and communicate monthly, half-yearly and annual Operational reports in an accurate and timely manner to the Board.
• Review and evaluate performance of Heads of departments to create and maintain effective and efficient management team.
• Ability to manage the company’s cash flow streams to prevent the incidence of any liquidity and/or financial crisis that can adversely affect business
• Ability to build and sustain the capacity of the Accounting department and provide exemplary stewardship through the establishment, monitoring and improvement of accounting and finance systems.
• Ability to communicate and present the critical financial issues that can impact on the overall performance and sustainability of the business to the management team and the Board of Directors
• Knowledge and understanding of modern operational activities

• In-depth knowledge of the legal framework governing the acquisition and ownership of market facilities.
• Computer literate – knowledge in Ms Excel, Word, Power point etc.
• Comprehensive knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance programs and procedures.
• Ability to identify and recognise unsafe conditions or work practices.
• Ability to read, analyses, and interpret complex documents.
• Ability to write memos and technical reports using original or innovative techniques or style.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
