Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. (“KRGL”) is a fully owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company
which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana’s next goldmine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.
KRGL is seeking to employ a qualified person to fill the role below. This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment. The camp’s facilities include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi access, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (swimming pool, gym, volleyball/basketball, tennis, pool tables, table soccer, soccer grounds). Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Position: Materials Planner
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a world-class mine Catalogue with classifications to facilitate good stock control ractices;
• Determine correct ordering levels of material requirements to ensure optimal service levels, stock-turns and stockholding levels;
• Develop, maintain and prepare weekly re-order reports to replenish stock items
• Resolve complaints from end users regarding non-conforming items delivered or found in stock
• Scrutinize Stock Introduction Forms to ensure adequacy of item descriptions/specs
• Continually review stock movement patterns and advice users on re-classifying non-moving stocks as Obsolete or redundant
• Continually review stocks with the view to moving significant, identifiable commodity groups into the contract environment to maximize acquisition cost to the company
• Play early and active role in the stock introduction process with user departments to ensure standardization and variety reduction;
• Design early warning system to identify items that may be running out earlier than projected
• Ensure that Stores Requisitions unable to be served off the shelf are swiftly catered for
• Ensure compliance company policies and procedures with respect to stock replenishment classification and re-classification of stocks, and resolution of quality complaints
Develop, maintain and regularly publish the following operational Reports:
• Stock valuation
• Stock-turn ratios for different categories of stock, and overall stock
• Service level to the mine
• Quality complaints received from end users
• Significant stock-out situations
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain or Logistics
• Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply or equivalent professional institution;
• Minimum of five (5) years Inventory Management working experience in Materials Planning for mining and process plant spares and consumables, PPEs and other safety-related equipment and consumables
• Good Computer Skills in related packages;
• Must be conversant with the Procurement Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana and internationally recognized warehouse/inventory standards
• Thorough understanding of supply chain practices procedures
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Procurement, Supply Chain in the Mining environment.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to work under pressure with little supervision
