Abosso Goldfields Ltd (AGL, a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited, is a world-class operation, consisting of large-scale open pit and CIL Metallurgical. The operation has a mining rate around 24 Mtpa and a processing rate of 4.4 Mtpa. The mine is situated in a tropical climate in the Western Region of Ghana.

Job Summary

Department: Mineral Resources

Purpose of Job:
AGL is seeking to employ a Mineral Resources Manager who will ensure that mineral resource strategies, systems, processes and policies are in place to maximise the Life of Mine as well as creating an environment and culture where high quality mining, exploration and growth opportunities are conceived and delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Creating an environment and culture where high quality exploration and growth opportunities are conceived and delivered
•  Implementing a Long-term detailed mineral resource strategy
•  Management of the companies tenement portfolio
•  Ensuring a comprehensive strategic resource accounting and preparation of annual Competent Person's Report (CPR)
•  Balancing resource availability to ensure maximum profit
•  Managing the contibutions to mining operations in the following areas: geology, exploration, ore body optimisation and risk analysis
•  Ensure an Ongoing development of Surbanes Oxley compliant resource procedures
•  Conducting internal audits of the Mineral Resource Management system and reconcile these against external audits

Qualification Required & Experience

Key Requirements:

•  High proficiency in Ore accounting - Mine Call Factor (MCF)
•  High proficiency in grade control Modeling
•  A tertiary qualification in Mineral Resource Management or related discipline
•  Minimum of 10-15 years experience in open pit mining and the development and optimization of mineral resource assets
•  Experience in Exploration with emphasis on diamond drilling and reverse circulation drilling
•  Experience of appropriate geostatistical and estimation techniques
•  Competent Person qualification as defined by SAMREC and SEC guidelines
•  Well-developed oral and written communication skills in English
•  Medical certificates of fitness for the position and environment

It will be advantageous if applicants have:

•  Have resided in a camp environment
•  A related post graduate qualification and/or relevant business qualification
•  Relevant work experience in both palaeoplacer and hydrothermal gold environments
