Job Vacancy For Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist At Chemonics International
Chemonics International Inc, a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., is seeking long-term employees and short-term consultants for anticipated USAID projects in Ghana. It is anticipated that these projects will focus on several sectors, including education, agriculture, and health.
We are recruiting senior-level monitoring and evaluation specialists for these anticipated multi-year projects. The monitoring and evaluation specialists will guide project teams in developing strategies for reporting based on the projects’ implementation plans, performance monitoring plans, and annual work plans. These specialists will work in collaboration with government entities and non-governmental organizations to further strengthen their monitoring and evaluation systems.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in public administration or applied research (anthropology or sociology); Master’s Degree preferred;
• Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience performance monitoring preferably at an international organization or government agency. Experience with USAID highly desired;
• Experience establishing a monitoring and evaluation system, i.e. developing data collection forms, indicator reference sheets, and performance monitoring plans;
• Experience building the capacity of NGOs and/or government entitites in monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Strong knowledge of database management systems such as Access and Excel and experience designing monitoring and evaluation systems;
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop effective working relations with senior government personnel, host country citizens, U.S. government organizations and donor partners;
• Demonstrated oral communications skills to effectively present information and respond to questions;
• Exceptional writing skills to effectively edit and write reports and publications;
• Fluency in English required, knowledge of written and spoken Ghanaian languages preferred.
