Job Vacancy For Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist At CARE International



CARE International in Ghana is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of M&E Specialist to support its high profile programme within national coverage. The M&E specialist will be part of the highly motivated national M&E working group in CARE. This position seeks improve accountability and to generate knowledge and evidence of impact which will be used for accountability to all stakeholders, advocacy, risk analysis and mitigation as well as adapting programming strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Provide technical oversight to the country office M&E systems and practices to ensure standardized practices are applied for effective and efficient M&E.
•  Lead CARE Ghana’s efforts at developing impact measurement, accountability & learning systems and practices.
•  Supports and facilitates the design of programme level M&E frameworks that meets Donor M&E and reporting requirements.
•  Provide quality assurance for M&E related events, including review of ToRs for M&E related consultancies, baseline and evaluation designs and reports.
•  The M&E Specialist will provides technical support to the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective and gender sensitive M&E throughout the project cycle of initiatives in CARE Ghana programmes.

The Package:

•  The position is based in Accra with extensive travel in and out of the country.
•  The position comes with an attractive salary package commensurate with qualification & experience.
•  S/He reports to the Programme Director / Assistant Country Director.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  A Masters in Statistics, Economics or First degree with significant years of relevant work experience in M&E.
•  At  least 7 years experience in a similar position in an International NGO
•  Strong analytical and planning skills.
•  Experience in project/programme monitoring, review and evaluation.
•  Good communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of senior level negotiation,
•  An appreciation of a consultative, team approach to decision making.
•  A good understanding of development issues, with an emphasis on participation and sustainability.
