Description Of Job

Main Duties

•  Attend to the general health needs of members of the university community while on duty;
•  Provide first aid when the need arises to any member of the university community;
•  Provide guidance on the referral of medical cases to hospitals/clinics;
•  Provide counseling services to members of the community with specific health issues/challenges;
•  Complete medical incidence reports and forward same to the appropriate departments;
•  Monitor students on medication;
•  Assist in compiling monthly health care statistics;

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications & Skills
Required:

•  Professional qualification in Nursing and must be a registered member of the Nurses’ and Midwives’ Council of Ghana;
•  A minimum of five (5) years post-qualification experience is required
•  Demonstrated experience in counseling;
•  Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills;
•  Demonstrated ability in use of computers;
•  Excellent customer service skills, particularly in relation to young adults;
•  Strong decision making ability.

Preferred:

•  Prior experience in a tertiary school setting or corporate environment will be an advantage;
•  Ability to drive and having a valid driver’s license will be a plus;
