Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will report to the Project Director and will have the following responsibilities:

•   Management of initial bulk earthworks and civil construction at the Edikan Power Station expansion
•   Management of initial earthworks and civil construction associated with process plant modifications
•   Management of all off site enquiries from engineering consultants
•   Management of structural steel pre-assembly associated with process plant modifications
•   Leadership of the mechanical commissioning of CAT 3516 Power Station engines
•   Establishment of all maintenance procedures and processes for the CAT 3516 Power Station engines prior to handover to the operations team
•   Management of all mechanical sub- contractors

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Trade qualification in a mechanical discipline
•   Internationally recognised Driving Licence
•   Dogging (and slinging) tickets
•   Internationally recognised Non-Slewing (Franna) Crane Operator's License
•   Maintenance planning qualifications from an internationally recognised institution
•   Project or business management qualifications from an internationally recognised institution
•   In excess of 8 years Greenfields mine site development & establishment experience
•   At least 10 years at Superintendent level or above in a mobile plant workshop on a major mining operation or construction project
•   Over 15 years in maintaining and managing mobile plant, and other equipment
•   Experience in the development of project budgets and Forecasting plus hands-on management construction activities i.e . planning, implementation in mining environment
•   Hands-on contract management, leadership skills of both construction and maintenance contracts
•   Past experience in the management of small to medium sized multi-discipline contractors i.e. mechanical, civil, structural & electrical
