Job Vacancy For Procurement Officer At Gold Fields Ghana Ltd (Tarkwa)
Position: Procurement Officer - Fixed Term Contract (2 yrs)
Department: Projects (TEP 6)
Gold Fields Ghana is currently seeking to engage the services of a dedicated, experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the vacant position of Procurement Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for processing and acquiring goods, raw materials and services in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner to enhance productivity of the department's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Source quotations from registered suppliers and liaise with them to ensure that enquiries/orders are acknowledged
• Select right bidder based on cost to company, efficiency of supplier and quality of goods and services to be supplied
• Manage and maintain large volume of purchase order database
• Expedite Purchase Orders to ensure that suppliers deliver goods or services within the prescribed time period
• Liaise with suppliers to establish status of Purchase Orders and to ensure delivery of items ordered on schedule
• Reconcile GRA with orders to ensure the right goods or services have been provided
• Perform other duties that may periodically be assigned
Qualification Required & Experience
Key requirements:
• A tertiary qualification in Purchasing & Supply or its equivalent from a recognised institution
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in similar position
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent knowledge in SAP System
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Well-developed oral and willingness to work long hours to obtain required results
• A hands-on approach and willingness to work long hours to obtain required results
• Medical fitness for the position and environment
• Valid Ghanaian driver's license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
