Summary
Responsible for the management and coordination of activities at the machine and tailoring shops to help improve the performance of the production department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

•  Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.
•  Responsible for scheduling daily appointments for the taking of measurements and installation of curtains and blinds for our clients
•  Initiatiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
•  Ensure the attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.
•  Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the department supports company’s strategic initiatives.
•  Establish group and individual accountabilities at the department for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
•  Encourage the use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.
•  Improve manpower utilization at the departments.
•  Manage spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume.
•  Ensure that the company’s condition of service agreement is effectively administered and that employee grievances are effectively addressed in a timely fashion.
•  Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas of the department.
•  Maintain individual skills by keeping up to date with latest production management concepts in the industry.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  At least a 1st degree in a technical field from a recognize institution
•  At least 5years working experience in a high production environment
•  5 years of supervisory/managerial experience
•  Must be willing to work for long hours
•  Must have in-depth knowledge in decorations, and in the production of quality curtains and blinds
•  Highly motivated and energetic person
•  Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities
•  excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential
