Job Vacancy For Program Associate At ACDI/VOCA (Tamale)

Based in Washington, DC., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security in order to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society.

ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking the services of a Program Associate (to be based in its Tamale office) for the Farmer-to-Farmer Program (F2F).

F2F is a regional program that provides technical assistance to farmers, farm groups, and agribusiness throughout Ghana to use of US volunteers.

Essential Responsibilities

•   Assist in initiating contact with targeted host organizations to assess their technical assistance needs. This includes working with Farmer groups and other collaborating agencies to identify potential volunteer assignments
•   Conduct needs assessment of potential host organisations for the F@F volunteer program and assess the capacity of host organizations to meet F2F requirements using standard data collection forms
•   Develop scopes of work on time to field a high volume of volunteers, act as a coordinator between selected host and volunteer consultants and monitor volunteer consultants in country to ensure their safety and the achievement of the assignment objectives
•   Support the mobilization of volunteers including writing letters of invitation and providing logistical information and support to volunteers
•   Coordinate the review of potential volunteer resumes between ACDI/VOCA technical staff and host organizations for effective decision making related to appropriate volunteer qualifications
•   Assist in monitoring and evaluation of assignments after completion to assess impact of the volunteer program on beneficiaries

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree in agriculture, agribusiness, Natural Resource Management or related field
•   Minimum four (4) years of experience in agriculture
•   Excellent written and oral communication skills
•   Demonstrate ability to work independently and as a team
•   Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
•   Detail oriented, highly organised, responsive, self-motivated
