Job Vacancy For Programme Analyst At UNDP Ghana



Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Programme Specialist (Governance),  the Programme Analyst (Gender) is responsible for ensuring that all UNDP programmes, projects and activities are gender sensitive and promoting gender equality. Specific duties will be accorded within the governance and conflict transformation practice areas. The Programme Analyst (gender) analyzes political, political, social and economic trends and leads formulation, management and evaluation of programme activities within his/her portfolio, provides policy advice services with focus on gender.

The Programme Analyst (Gender) works in close collaboration with the operations team, programme staff in other UN Agencies, UNDP HQs staff and Government officials, technical advisors and experts, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors and civil society towards ensuring successful UNDP programme implementation in the area of gender equality.

Summary of key functions:

. Ensure the implementation of programme strategies by advising the CO on gender policies and trends and relevant linkages to UNDP programmes and provide analysis for formulation of strategies and briefings to the Governance Cluster whilst advocating for and representing UNDP in his/her area of expertise as requested by his/her supervisor

. Ensure effective management of the CO programme within UNDP generally and especially in the governance and conflict transformation practice areas whilst ensuring the effective main streaming of gender approaches that achieve the goal of gender equality

. Ensure the creation of strategic partnerships and implementation of resource mobilization strategy in cooperation with the Management Support and Business Development Team focusing on achievement of the development of partnerships with the UN Agencies, IFI's, government institutions, bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors, private sector, civil society in the specific thematic areas based on strategic goals of UNDP, country needs and donor's priorities

. Ensure provision of top quality advisory services and facilitation of knowledge building and management focusing on identification of sources of information related to policy-driven issues. Identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learnt directly linked to programme country policy goals

Qualification & Experience

Core Competencies:

. Self-development, initiative-taking and acting as a team player and facilitating team work. Facilitating and encouraging open communication in the team, communicating effectively, creating synergies through self-control and managing conflict

Education:

. Master's Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field

. 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems

Language Requirements: Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station
