Job Vacancy For Programme Finance Analyst



Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Analysis (95% of time)

• Develop cost driver analysis on identified partner funding proposals
• Build and forecast multi-currency, cost driver and inflation adjusted financial models and tests expense reports against those models
• Quarterly assemble and summarise data on financial status of programmes into sophisticated internal reports, including indentifying key expense risks and key opportunities for enhanced cost effectiveness (where applicable). Keep Senior VP, collaborating staff and project teams apprised of findings and shifts in models
• Consult regularly with Senior VP to inform long-term and strategic decision making on partner financial management based on analysis
• Drive process improvement and procedure development initiatives in the programme department that impact the function of the above, working closely to maximise efficiencies and share information with grants finance manager (in particular) on any overlapping programmes
• Ensures compliance with financial requirements of programme department, including input and review of financial data related to external cost effectiveness studies when relevant
• Supports pricing negotiations on contracts with institution back funders when required
• Provides insight on institutional grants reporting to finance and accounting as requested

Africa Regional Office (5% of time)

• Provide Director, Finance and Operations, Programmes, a monthly quality assurance review on Africa Regional office accounting records and expense coding processes, ensuring Episcopal Relief & Development Africa Regional Office is audit compliant
• Provide Director, Finance and Operations, Programmes, a twice-yearly independent update on all relevant Ghana government regulations and statutory payments, to ensure office is in compliance
• Perform related work as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong skills in financial budgeting, price or cost analysis and reporting, including in multi-currency operating environment
• Strong data collection, problems-solving and analytic skills
• Proficient in spreadsheets, database, MS Office and financial software applications
• Hands on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
• Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
• Proven knowledge of financial forecasting, diagnosis, and cost effectiveness review, with operating experience as a financial analyst
• Ability to juggle and meet competing priorities demanding deadlines and work under pressure with complex teams
• High level of integrity and commitment to professional responsibilities

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or another relevant field. At least 7 years of experience with financial analysis and financial management, including experience in cost-effectiveness analysis
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, leadership and ethical management
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities while working in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment
• Experience working in developing countries, with local resource constrained partners, and/or working in a resource-limited setting a plus
