Cowater International (Cowater) is a Canadian management consulting firm providing leading-edge, innovative solutions to clients worldwide.  For over 20 years, Cowater has worked in Ghana on a wide range of development projects and is now seeking experienced municipal governance specialists to provide capacity support to 12 metropolitan and municipal assemblies (MMAs) located throughout the Northern, Upper East/West and Brong Ahafo Regions of Ghana. Project staff will help build the capacity of MMAs to improve the performance in essentially five important pubic financial management areas.

Public Financial Management Experts

• Should have proven experience in budgeting, revenue management, accounting, auditing and reporting, ideally at the MMA level.

• Have successfully worked in a team environment and used an iterative and advisory based capacity development approach to transferring knowledge.

Key Qualifications and Experience

Cowater is looking for self-motivated, technically qualified professionals that have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a learning environment. The successful candidates will have:

•  Bachelor of Art’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related discipline,
•  5-10 years working experience in the financial management area including some at the MMA level,
•  Membership in or eligibility for membership in the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants
•  Demonstrated capacity building experience including various training approaches
•  Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
•  Experience in writing and submitting quarterly, semi-annual, and annual progress/status reports
