WASCAL (West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use) is a research – and education-focused institute designed to help tackle the climate change challenge and thereby enhance the resilience of human and environmental systems. It does so by strengthening the research capacity and infrastructure in West Africa related to climate change by pooling the expertise of ten West African countries and Germany.
WASCAL, the West African Science Service Center for Climate Change and Adapted land Use is seeking to fill the position of Public Relations Officer/Editor in the Executive Director’s office, Accra, Ghana.
The responsibilities include but are not restricted to:
• Managing the public relations and publishing activities of WASCAL
• liaise with partners in the region and in donor countries in ensuring a high WASCAL profile
• Ensure the timely production of annual reports and external and internal newsletters
• Maintain quality control of all printed and visual products generated by WASCAL
• Ensure WASC.AL presence in social media
Qualification Required & Experience
With the following qualifications:
• Advanced degree in journalism or equivalent
• At least 7 years of working experience preferably in a multi-cultural environment
• Fully bi-lingual English/French
• Citizen of a WASCAL member country (see www.wascal.org)
