Description Of Job

We require a Quality Assurance Manager for an oil service company.  The incumbent will ensure quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation. The QA Manager will also establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company operations.  The position is based in Takoradi, Ghana.

Responsibilities include:

•  Creates and implements QA systems in compliance with qualifying standards, ISO 9001-2000 and API Q1.
•  In charge of acquiring and maintaining all required certifications (OSO 9001-2000, API, etc.) and all licenses from third party companies (Premium threading, etc.).
•  Develops weld procedures for the purpose of hard branding materials to drill pipe and ensure that the appropriate licences are acquired for this.
•  Creates and supervises quality process until completion.
•  Maintains and inspects quality equipments and work area.
•  Creates and approves quality procedures and manuals. Assists other departments in the maintenance and creation of procedures which are QA compliant.
•  Liaises with external parties on all QA/QC matter.
•  Liaises with appropriate parties to conduct internal and external quality audits annually.
•  Instigates measures to correct any defect identified by external certifying bodies.

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications & Skills:

•  BSc/HND degree in Engineering or technical discipline with a minimum of 3 -5 years experience in quality or engineering field or 4 - 7 years technical experience.
•  Practical experience of ISO 9001-2000 or API Q1, API 5CT, API 7, API 6A, API 16A and 16C, Quality Engineering, Quality Management or Quality Auditing are preferred.
•  Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
•  Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
